THE HANDWRITING ON THE WALL

At the Feast of Belshazzar and a thousand of his lords,
While they drank from golden vessels, as the Book of Truth records,
In the night as they reveled in the royal palace hall,
They were seized with consternation-'twas the Hand upon the wall!

See the brave captive, Daniel, as he stood before the throng,
And rebuked the haughty monarch for his might deeds of wrong;
As he read out the writing-'twas the doom of one and all,
For the kingdom now was finished-said the Hand upon the wall!

See the faith, zeal and courage, that would dare to do the right,
Which the spirit gave to Daniel-this the secret of his might;
In his home in Judea, or a captive in the hall,
He understood the writing of his God upon the wall!

So our deeds are recorded-there's a Hand that's writing now:
Sinner, give your heart to Jesus, to His royal mandates bow;
For the day is approaching-it must come to one and all,
When the sinner's condemnation will be written on the wall!

Chorus:
'Tis the Hand of God on the wall! 'Tis the Hand of God on the wall!
Shall the record be "Found santing1" or shall it be "found trusting"
While the Hand is writing on the wall?

THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER

This day we celebrate Memorial Day
let us all keep in mind the men and ladies who serve this country not be forgotten.
May they always be in our thoughts n prayers.
May God Bliss the USA

There's a graveyard near the White House
Where the Unknown Soldier lies,
And the flowers there are sprinkled
With the tears from mother's eyes.

I stood there not so long ago
With roses for the brave,
And suddenly I heard a voice
Speak from out the grave:

"I am the Unknown Soldier,"
The spirit voice began,
"And I think I have the right
To ask some questions man to man.

"Are my buddies taken care of?
Was their victory so sweet?
Is that big reward you offered
Selling pencils on the street?

"Did they really win the freedom
They battled to achieve?
Do you still respect that Croix de Guerre
Above that empty sleeve?

"Does a gold star in the window
Now mean anything at all?
I wonder how my old girl feels
When she hears a bugle call.

"And that baby who sang
'Hello, Central, give me no man's land'-
Can they replace her daddy
With a military band?

"I wonder if the profiteers
Have satisfied their greed?
I wonder if a soldier's mother
Ever is in need?

"I wonder if the kings, who planned it all
Are really satisfied?
They played their game of checkers
And eleven million died.

"I am the Unknown Soldier
And maybe I died in vain,
But if I were alive and my country called,
I'd do it all over again."
Billy Rose

This Poem is special to me and so true.
I pray that our Leaders of this Great Nation the USA
take into consideration the lives it cost on the decision
they make on behalf of the USA interest.

I am so thankful that we have men and ladies when call to duty
go and serve this great country of ours.

If it wasn't for these individuals we would not have the freedom we have today!
Thank you!

Baby Clay Sculpture

Can you imagine being so tiny. Well these chubby fingers of mine had a heck of a time sculpting this precious little bundle. I finally got smart starting using some tools that I bought and design myself. Boy are sculpting tools pricey. This was actually an online class a few years back that I took. I like taking online classes when I'm learning a new technique this way I can ask questions.

Side View look at those ears oh so tiny

Back View oh so precious!

Another side view of this precious clay baby.

If you have not tried your hand in sculpting I encourage you to do so. I was amaze at my first turn out I plan to keep sculpting and doing my own thing.

THROUGH THE YEAR

One of my most favorite poems I find most poems to be very refreshing especially those of Faith and Reverence.

God be with you in the Springtime
When the violets unfold,
And the buttercups and cowslips
Fill the fields with yellow gold;
In the time of apple blossoms,
When the happy bluebirds sing,
filling all the world with gladness-
Gold be with in the Spring!

God be with you in the Summer,
When the sweet June roses blow,
When the boblinks are laughing
And the brooks with music flow;
When the fields are white with daisies
And the days are glad and long-
God be with you in the Summer,
Filling all your world with song.

God be with you in the Autumn,
When the birds and flowers have fled,
And along the woodland pathways
Leaves are falling, gold and red;
When the Summer lies behind you,
In the evening of the year-
God be with you in the Autumn,
Then to fill your heart with cheer.

God be with you in the Winter,
When the snow lies deep and white,
When the sleeping fields are silent
And the stars gleam cold and bright.
When the hand and heart are tired
With life's long and weary quest-
God be with you in the Winter,
Just to guide you into rest.

Charmed One

I just couldn't resist I just had to share with you all my latest doll venture. Back in February I took this class over at Doll Street Dreamers of Sherri Goshon called Charmed One. I wanted a fun simple class I have not been making dolls in such a long time due to health and other obligation that just kept getting in the way. Though this class was in February I did not finish it till May. Here are two of these adorable dolls which I am giving away ..giggle.. hubby thinks I'm crazy I just can't keep them all. As for selling I only like to sell dolls that I designed unless I finally have to let one go, then it is consider a use second hand doll. I know Doll Artist do not want to hear that but it's so. Even commercial dolls had an Artist to designed it once bought well it becomes a use second hand doll that is usually pass onto someone else.

These dolls are fabric with polyester fiberfill stuffing. Once the form is made then it becomes a canvas to paint and collage on. It was so much fun! I'm going to make me one for my birthday. Sherri made the comment you won't be able stop at one boy was she right!

New Beginnings

Over on another site we were given a egg shape pattern to make something out of it that represent new beginnings. I found this really hard for some reason.

First I made a picture of a bulb that became a flower. I wasn't satisfy with that back to the drawing board.

Then I came up with this idea with a baby inside an egg. A combination of drawing and collage.

Hence forth we have New Beginnings.

While I was cleaning house one day I notice my feather duster, candle and a apple on the table. It suddenly hit me that I should draw that. That's what I did any excuse to get out of house keeping ..giggle.. the first picture is in pencils the second one is done in watercolor.

Hatley a PaperDoll

Hatley is my very first paper doll the body design is by Sherry Goshen. We were to take this body pattern and turn it into a doll.

This is my interpretation of this doll body. I came up with a boy. I use several nice designer paper to make up the clothes then I added some buttons to the shirt and for his hat will he just had to have a tassel not to say a gold beaded briml. ..giggle..

I made him to be hang on the wall. The face I drew in with color pencils and actually use wool for the hair. This was a fun project it open up a whole different world for me. From time to time I make Artist Trading Dolls and trade them actually but then I also make them for myself which I put in a folder or hang on the wall.

Russian Princess Necklace

I was taking beading classes in Weaverville, California a few years back. Seti and I would sit together at a table and bead. One of my most favorite times.

This is a beaded necklace that I did in beads that has multiple color beads. In the center of the flower there is a green bead. The leaves are all done individually then hand sewn to the main piece.

You know what is funny, I really don't wear necklaces will maybe once in a blue moon you know what I mean. I don't know why I enjoy making them. I fine beading very relaxing.

Old Fashion Rag Doll

Just an Old Fashion Rag Doll. This is one of my doll that I made for my Mother In-law.

She is a painted rag doll. I use the muslin body as my canvas for painting. I apply several coats of gesso and then paint in layers till I get the look I'm after.

The clothes are all hand made even the adorable little donkey or is it a horse that she is hold as her favorite toy.

I love making these rag dolls imagine in days of old children where allow to play with them. Today well due to it being painted I would say no this is not a toy but it is a collector doll.

SOMEBODY'S MOTHER

The woman was old and ragged and gray
And bent with the chill of the Winter's day.

The street was wet with a recent snow
And the woman's feet were aged and slow.

She stood at the crossing and waited long,
Alone, uncared for, amid the throng

Of human beings who passed her by
Nor heeded the glance of her anxious eye.

Down the street, with laughter and shout,
Glad in the freedom of "school let out,"

Came the boys like a flock of sheep,
Hailing the snow piled white and deep.

Past the woman so old and gray
Hastened the children on their way.

Nor offered a helping hand to her-
So meek, so timid, afraid to stir

Lest the carriage wheels or the horses' feet
Should crowd her down in the slippery street.

At last came one of the merry troop,
The gayest laddie of all the group;

He paused beside her and whispered low,
"I'll help you cross, if you wish to go."

Her aged hand on his strong young arm
She placed, and so, without hurt or harm,

He guided the trembling feet along,
Proud that his own were firm and strong.

Then back again to his friends he went,
His young heart happy and well content.

"She's somebody's mother, boys, you know,
For all she's aged and poor and slow,

"And I hope some fellow will lend a hand
To help my mother, you understand,

"If ever she's poor and old and gray,
When her own dear boy is far away."

And "somebody's mother" bowed low her head
In her home that night, and the prayer she said

Was, "God be kind to the noble boy,
Who is somebody's son, and pride and joy!"

Ewing Resevoir

Well it won't be long know Mike and I will be walking early in the morning around Ewing Reservoir which supply the water for Hayfork.

This is a beautiful hilly walk gives you lots of exercise. Some walk others run around the reservoir.

While others are out there fishing.

Wish me luck I have tried getting some good pictures of the wild life around there. Not so lucky though when I get near enough the go way across the reservoir by the time I get over there they are back to the other side. I'll have to share some other photos I have taken around this beautiful reservoir. Going to be interesting to see how much water there is in it this year. Not receiving much snow or rain it is already dry around here and the rivers are very low.

Summer

Getting warm out there. Before we know it Spring will be gone and Summer will be here.

Already thinking been a little sultry here, worry a bit about Thunder Storms. They usually cause fires up here ..sigh.. Mother nature has a way of cleaning her forest up.

Couldn't resist sharing this picture I took back in 2006 this is looking down our drive way. When it snows everything looks so clean and pretty.

Again, before we know it we will want Winter to come as it gets hotter n hotter n hotter.

Are you ready for Summer?
