Chunky Fabric Page

I did it! I finally figure out how to get out of Draft Blogger..geez! Now I can upload a picture. Appearantly something is wrong with draft blogger.

The Little Seamstress

Well anyway here is a one page that I just finish and sent off to the Host of "A Charm, Beads, Fabric & Fiber Swap.

These are 4x4 fabric pages.

Really had a lot of fun making these up. I printed off on fabric the poem and the picture of a child sewing on her doll.

MY EARLY HOME

Here sparrows build upon the trees,
And stock-dove hides her nest;
The leaves are winnowed by the breeze
Into a calmer rest:
The blackcap's song was very sweet,
That used the rose to kiss;
It made the paradise complete:
My early home was this.
***
The redbreast from the sweetbrier bush
Dropt down to pick the worm;
On the horse-chestnut sang the thrush,
O'er the house where I was born;
The moonlight, like a shower of pearls,
Fell o'er this "bower of blis,"
And on the bench sat boys and girls:
My early home was this.
***
The old house stooped just like a cave,
Thatched o'er with mosses greens;
Winter around the walls would rave,
But all was calm within;
The trees are here all green agen,
Here bees the flowers still kiss,
But flowers and trees seemed sweeter then:
My early home was this.

My Day Sunday

Wow! What a wonderful day. We decided that a group of us was going to go for a motorycycle ride on Sunday. As the plans got underway I realized that I needed to go to our 1st Art Showing at the Hayfork Enchanted Florist and Tea House to view my friend Diane Glass art. So I politely informed all the riders they needed to meet us at the Florist shop and we all had to go in and look at Diane art. Oh by the way she has a beautiful blog site Artstanding Stranger she is also known as Glitter Crow in different art groups. We have the cutest little Florist Shoppe the owner Jan Rafferty she also serves tea too and she likes to display Art from our little town. Jan is such a beautiful wonderful person. The shop was full of Diane art and beaded jewerly, not to say the little 4x4 chunky pages and ATCs so much more.

Chatty and Glitter Crow aka Artstanding Stranger
Between us is a face of one of her pieces of Art. Diane like to take pictures of her relatives does like an abstract art with them. She gives them different types of bodies and emebellishments. They turn out really nice and the table beside us is full of her beautiful beaded jewerly.
Some more of Diane Art and jewerly.
Very nice indeed.
***
Then off we went on our ride. There were 4 motorcycles or trikes in our group which included 6 individuals. We had a blast we took off to Mad River to a little hamburger stand and had lunch. I wasn't to happy with my lunch I had a Turkey Melt, very bland and dry. I won't try that sandwich again. From there we took off to Wildroad we stop at the little store there picked up something to drink for us it was lemon Lime Gaterade, big drinkers we are ..giggle.. then we came on back to Hayfork, got gas, we are now ready to go on our next little skirting. Hey, tomorrow I will share with you all the trike that Tom Blackburn is building boy is it amazing. Right now he is driving it with just a frame body, he will be working on the fiberglass body soon. Till we meet again everyone, have a great day!

MYSTERY

As Mike and I was coming home, along the way we would stop taking pictures of interest. On this one, we found a beautiful rock chimney standing all alone. As we were walking around it, you couldn't but wonder what story this chimney could recall.
Rock Chimney
Standing all alone it had a air of mystery.
***
Now as I was taking pictures Mike kept teasing me that I might fall into a septic tank the lid of the tank was off of the septic now were is that septic I don't know! He was so concern about it that when I turn around to take a shot at him I caught him
Mike Yawns
yawning, boy does he have a BIG mouth! He should be tired we drove over 180 miles this day. Did we both sleep good that night.

Now isn't that a beautiful Trike we just love it.

Digger Pine Cone

This past weekend, Mike and I spent riding on our Boss Hoss Trike. We road over 200 miles practically in a  circle. What I mean on Saturday we left for Redding, from there we went to Red Bluff from there we went to Wild Road back to Hayfork and home. Then On Sunday we took off to Weaverville drove around the lake and back home. The days were beautiful up in the 90's a bit warm but oh so lovely. You know we have Spring Fever bad! Coming down Wild Road we stop by Hayfork Creek to rest and to admire the sites. I happen to see a Digger Pinecone ..giggle.. I had Mike take a picture of me with it. This pine cone was as large as my head if not larger....

TURKEY CHASE

As most of you know I live up in the mountains in Northern California. Up here we have wild turkey's. We just love them, you will see them out in the field every now and then, mostly lately though they have been near a neighbor of ours. The Old Tom, must be lonely, for his ladies are nesting right now. ..giggle.. For some reason this fella chases white vehicles and we happen to be one of those white vehicles. So this one morning I took the camera and and took a few pictures here is one for you.

Isn't he handsome!

Juanita Iris

I was delighted this week to notice that my first little miniature iris has bloomed. I am hopping to that I will get more these little iris are so special to me.You know you never know what you really have till you loose someone close to you. For me that was Juanita Irvine. Now let me tell you she was a character she was a bit hard to get to know, but, once you did, well, she was special. Before she died a vew years back she gave me some of her prize minature iris. Now whenever they bloom, I say, Hello Juanita how have you been and in my mind that little iris says back to me: "It's about time you got out here working in your yard!" now that is exactly what Juanita would say. ..*smile*..
Juanita Minature Iris
So far I have not seen any of these little iris in any of my flowers catalogs...If I ever find them I'm going to snag them I just love them. This picture was taken with my Nikon Coolpix P4 a delightful little camera!

NEARER TO THEE

Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee!
E'en though it be a cross
That raiseth me;
Still all my song shall be,
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee!
***
Though like the wanderer,
Then sun gone down,
darkness be over me,
My rest a stone;
Yet in my dreams I'd be
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee!
***
There let the way appear
Steps unto heaven;
All that Thou send'st to me
In mercy given;
Angels to beckon me
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
***
Then, with my waking thoughts
Bright with Thy praise,
Out of my stony griefs
Bethel I'll raise;
So by my woes to be
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee!
***
Or if on joyful wing
Cleaving the sky,
Sun, moon, and stars forgot,
Upward I fly,
Still all my song shall be,
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee!

O WORLD

O world, thou choosest not the better part!
It is not wisdom to be only wise,
And on the inward vision close the eyes,
But it is wisdom to believe the heart.
Columbus found a world, and had no chart,
Save one that faith deciphered in the skies;
To trust the soul's invincible surmise
Was all his science and his only art.
Our knowledge is a torch of smoky pine
That lights the pathway but one step ahead
Across a void of mystery and dread.
Bid, then, the tender light of faith to shine
By which alone the mortal heart is led
Unto the thinking of the thought divine.

TWO TEMPLES

A Builder builded a temple,
He wrought it with grace and skill;
Pillars and groins and arches
All fashioned to work his will.
Men said, as they saw its beauty,
"It shall never know decay;
Great is the skill, O Builder!
They fame shall endure for aye."
***
A Mother builded a temple
With loving infinite care
Planning each arch with patience,
Laying each stone with prayer.
None praised her unceasing efforts,
None knew of her wondrous plan,
For the temple the Mother builded
Was unseen by the eyes of man.
***
Gone is the Builder's temple,
Crumpled into the dust;
Low lies each stately pillar,
Food for consuming rust.
But the temple the Mother builded
Will last while the ages roll,
For that beautiful unseen temple
Was a child's immortal soul.

A PRAYER

Lord, Let me live like a Regular Man,
With Regular friends and true;
Let me play the game on a Regular plan
And play it that way all through;
***
Let me win or lose with a Regular smile
And never be known to whine,
For that is a Regular Fellow's style
And I want to make it mine!
***
Oh, give me a Regular chance in life,
The same as the rest, I pray,
And give me a Regular girl for wife
To help me along the way;
Let us know the lot of humanity,
Its regular woes and joys,
And raise a Regular family
Of Regular girls and boys!
***
Let me live to a Regular good old age,
With Regular snow-white hair,
Having done my labor and earned my wage
And played my game for fair;
And so at last when the people scan
My face on its peaceful bier,
They'll say, "Well, he was a Regular Man!"
And drop a Regular tear!

This last week over at Zentangle with a Twist Social Group that I host the challenge was to zentanlge a hand. You had two option, draw a hand or trace around your own hand. With time being so short so many things all going on at the same time I trace my hands all three of them infact. I am only showing one here now, in a few days you will see the other two. HAPPINESS

Happiness is like a crystal,
Fair and exquisite and clear,
Broken in million pieces,
Shattered, scattered far and near.
Now and then along life's pathway,
Lo! some shining fragments fall;
But there are so many pieces
No one ever finds them all.
***
You may find a bit of beauty,
Or an honest share of wealth,
While another just beside you
Gathers honor, love or health.
Vain to choose or graps unduly,
Broken is the perfect ball;
And there are so many pieces
No one ever finds them all.
***
Yet the wise as on they journey
Treasure every fragment clear,
Fit them as they may together,
Imaging the shattered sphere,
Learning ever to be thankful,
Though their share of it is small;
For it has so many pieces
No one ever finds them all.

Altered Dominoes

This week over at ATCsforALL in the Zentangle Social group our challenge is altering a Domino. I made 3 turning them into magnets.

First  I started by sanding the back of the domino

Then I apply gesso to the sanded domino applying layers which I sand
making it smooth
Then I draw my design. Some use felt pens, some paint
since I was experimenting I tried using Micron Pens they worked great!
Once I am done and satisfy then I sealed mine with Diamond Glaze.
And, others use other sealers too, you just have to experiment, see
what works for you.
