While my Computer was down I have been working on some swaps. I have gotten into making these Chunky 4x4 pages so far mine have all been fabric.
I just love it!
I made several, I will show two here and the rest will be in my Flickr Site soon.

The two I am sharing here I kept for myself. Eventually I am going to have a book just of mine own fabric pages that I created.

In the dark of December
A magical thing

NEARER TO THEE

Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee!
E'en though it be a cross
That raiseth me;
Still all my song shall be,
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee!
***
Though like the wanderer,
Then sun gone down,
darkness be over me,
My rest a stone;
Yet in my dreams I'd be
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee!
***
There let the way appear
Steps unto heaven;
All that Thou send'st to me
In mercy given;
Angels to beckon me
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
***
Then, with my waking thoughts
Bright with Thy praise,
Out of my stony griefs
Bethel I'll raise;
So by my woes to be
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee!
***
Or if on joyful wing
Cleaving the sky,
Sun, moon, and stars forgot,
Upward I fly,
Still all my song shall be,
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee!

FALL BACK

Spring is here! So what do I do, take pictures of my minature iris started transplanting some candlesticks I have then today I got to looking back on some photographs that I took last year. I love Fall, the colors here changes to orange n yellow to brown so pretty. We have a huge Oak Tree down in our lower field that every year I try to take a picture of. When that ole Oak Tree started to change colors it is so beautiful we take so many things for granite every time I see this Oak Tree I smile quietly saying to myself have a good year my friend.

The weather has been so unusal here, one day maybe a week it will be very warm so spring light it is hard not to get Spring Fever then the next day or week it will be freezing. This weather has just been amazing.

O WORLD

O world, thou choosest not the better part!
It is not wisdom to be only wise,
And on the inward vision close the eyes,
But it is wisdom to believe the heart.
Columbus found a world, and had no chart,
Save one that faith deciphered in the skies;
To trust the soul's invincible surmise
Was all his science and his only art.
Our knowledge is a torch of smoky pine
That lights the pathway but one step ahead
Across a void of mystery and dread.
Bid, then, the tender light of faith to shine
By which alone the mortal heart is led
Unto the thinking of the thought divine.

TWO TEMPLES

A Builder builded a temple,
He wrought it with grace and skill;
Pillars and groins and arches
All fashioned to work his will.
Men said, as they saw its beauty,
"It shall never know decay;
Great is the skill, O Builder!
They fame shall endure for aye."
***
A Mother builded a temple
With loving infinite care
Planning each arch with patience,
Laying each stone with prayer.
None praised her unceasing efforts,
None knew of her wondrous plan,
For the temple the Mother builded
Was unseen by the eyes of man.
***
Gone is the Builder's temple,
Crumpled into the dust;
Low lies each stately pillar,
Food for consuming rust.
But the temple the Mother builded
Will last while the ages roll,
For that beautiful unseen temple
Was a child's immortal soul.

A PRAYER

Lord, Let me live like a Regular Man,
With Regular friends and true;
Let me play the game on a Regular plan
And play it that way all through;
***
Let me win or lose with a Regular smile
And never be known to whine,
For that is a Regular Fellow's style
And I want to make it mine!
***
Oh, give me a Regular chance in life,
The same as the rest, I pray,
And give me a Regular girl for wife
To help me along the way;
Let us know the lot of humanity,
Its regular woes and joys,
And raise a Regular family
Of Regular girls and boys!
***
Let me live to a Regular good old age,
With Regular snow-white hair,
Having done my labor and earned my wage
And played my game for fair;
And so at last when the people scan
My face on its peaceful bier,
They'll say, "Well, he was a Regular Man!"
And drop a Regular tear!

ZENTANGLE HAND

This last week over at Zentangle with a Twist Social Group that I host the challenge was to zentanlge a hand. You had two option, draw a hand or trace around your own hand. With time being so short so many things all going on at the same time I trace my hands all three of them infact. I am only showing one here now, in a few days you will see the other two. Each one different and special.

HAPPINESS

Happiness is like a crystal,
Fair and exquisite and clear,
Broken in million pieces,
Shattered, scattered far and near.
Now and then along life's pathway,
Lo! some shining fragments fall;
But there are so many pieces
No one ever finds them all.
***
You may find a bit of beauty,
Or an honest share of wealth,
While another just beside you
Gathers honor, love or health.
Vain to choose or graps unduly,
Broken is the perfect ball;
And there are so many pieces
No one ever finds them all.
***
Yet the wise as on they journey
Treasure every fragment clear,
Fit them as they may together,
Imaging the shattered sphere,
Learning ever to be thankful,
Though their share of it is small;
For it has so many pieces
No one ever finds them all.

Altered Dominoes

This week over at ATCsforALL in the Zentangle Social group our challenge is altering a Domino. I made 3 turning them into magnets.

First  I started by sanding the back of the domino

Then I apply gesso to the sanded domino applying layers which I sand
making it smooth
Then I draw my design. Some use felt pens, some paint
since I was experimenting I tried using Micron Pens they worked great!
Once I am done and satisfy then I sealed mine with Diamond Glaze.
And, others use other sealers too, you just have to experiment, see
what works for you.

Hark! what soundeth is creation

Hark! the onset! will ye fold your
Faith-clad arms in lazy lock?
Up, oh up, thou drowsy soldier!
Worlds are charging to the shock.
***
Worlds are charging-heaven beholdiing;
Thou hast but an hour to fight;
Now the blazoned cross unfolding,
On-right onward for the right.
On! let all the soul within you
for the truth's sake go abroad!
Strike! let every nerve and sinew
tell on ages-tell for God.

THE WATERED LILIES

The Master stood in His garden,
Among the lilies fair,
Which His own right hand had planted,
And trained with tend'rest care.
***
He looked at their snowy blossoms,
And marked with observant eye
That the flowers were sadly drooping,
For their leaves were parched and dry.
***
"My lilies need to be watered,"
The Heavenly Master said'
"Wherein shall I draw it for them,
And raise each drooping head?"
***
Close to his feet on the pathway,
Empty, and frail, and small,
An earthen vessel was lying,
Which seemed no use at all;
***
But the Master saw, and raised it
From the dust in which it lay,
And smiled, as He gently whispered,
"This shall do My work today:
***
"It is but an earthen vessel,
But it lay so close to Me;
It is small, but it is empty-
That is all it needs to be."
***
So to the fountain He took it,
And filled it full to the brim;
How glad was the earthen vessel
To be of some use to Him!
***
He poured forth the living water
Over His lilies fair,
Until the vessel was empty,
And again He filled it there.
***
He watered the drooping lilies
Until they revived again;
And the Master saw with pleasure
That His labor had not been vain.
***
His own hand had drawn the water
Which refreshed the thirsty flowers;
But He used the earthen vessel
To convey the living showers.
***
And to itself it whispered,
As He laid it aside once more,
"Still will I lie in His pathway,
Just where I did before.
***
"Close would I keep to the Master,
Empty would I remain,
And perhaps some day He may use me
To water His flowers again."
