Pointillism

I first learn about Pointillism was over in a doll group I belong too. We were to make a doll in the style of an artist. Well, I picked George Seurat. Boy did I learn about Pointillism. I had a great time figuring it all out. Being insecure about it I did not make my doll though I do have the body done. She is waiting for me to use her body as an canvas for Pointillism. In the meantime over at Artist Trading Card now known as ATCsforAll I joined a group who where drawing atc in the pointillism style. This picture is one of my attempts at pointillism.

Here We Go Again

Remember back in April I showed a photo of a young lady and my attempt to drawing her on a 2.5 x 3.5 card.

Well, here is the finish product. Lets say it's my version. Doesn't really look like her but I like it. Guess this means I will not be a portrait artist. You may be surprise at what you look like if I drew you ..giggle..

I did this one on watercolor paper with Prisma color pencils.

I made several attempts at this portrait did some in pencil then accent it with color pencils then I did another one in pencil and use black ink putting dots all over the portrait giving it that Pointillism feel to it. What can I say I'm always experimenting and trying new things out.

POINTILLISM

I was introduce to the art of pointillism a couple of years ago I believe in a doll group that I belong too. We were to make a doll in the style of an Artist way back. Going through the different artist I fell in love with George Surat an artist which was known for his little dots n slashes. After studying his work, well, I got so over whelm that I did not finish doll. It is waiting for me to pick up my paint brush to start working on it. Here is a ATC card that I did in pointillism. This is one of my very first attempt in the pointillism style. Every time I draw in the pointillism style I get better and better. What is that saying, "practice, practice, practice perfection will come along" I don't know about that what I do know that I have enjoy the many different styles of art. To the left of this page there is another pointillism card that I painted just a few months ago. Go take a peek it is near the bottom of this page.
